Blank Thermostat

Reset the breaker to the indoor unit & outdoor unit. Wait 5 minutes to turn the breaker back on. Unit may take up to 10 minutes to finally reset.

This can be Caused by your Thermostat:

  • Make sure your thermostat is turned On
  • Set 3 degrees below room temperature
  • Turn Cool, not fan or heat
If the thermostat screen is blank, then the batter is dead. Replace the battery.

      Your Air Filter May be Dirty.

      Check yours and change if visibly dirty

      Is there air coming out of your vents?

      Your AC’s circuit breaker may have been tripped

      Here's what to do:
      • Find your breaker box and look for the circuit labeled "air conditioner"
      • Try flipping that circuit to "off" and the "on"
      • Give your air conditioner a couple minutes and see if it comes on now

      This can be Caused by your Thermostat

      Here's what to do:
      • Find your breaker box and look for the circuit labeled “heat pump” or “air conditioner”.
      • Try flipping that circuit to “off” and then “on”.
      • Give your heat pump a couple minutes and see if it comes on now.

      Is the noise coming from the outside or inside unit?

      Here's what to do:

      This is your heat pump's normal defrost mode.

        Did you just turn your heater on for the first time this winter?

        This is likely normal.

        The smell should go away in a few minutes.

                Is there a drain line clog?

                Cleaning the drain line with a wet/dry shop-vac from the outside (drain pip typically next to the outdoor unit and copper piping)

                The Float Switch May Be Stuck

                Lift the float switch, if pip is full of water, repeat previous step with wet/dry shop-vac.

                Your air filter may be dirty

                Is your outdoor unit running?

                Are all the exterior screws tight on your outdoor unit?

                Make sure exterior screws are tight on your outdoor unit; tighten them if they are loose.

                Does the outdoor fan seem to be rotating at proper speed?

                Sounds like an issue with your gas line.

                Contact your local gas company to ensure your gas line is working properly.
